There are three gathering professions in Runes of Magic: Mining, Herb Gathering, and Woodcutting. In addition, gathering nodes are every where in Runes of Magic making it very simple to gather large amounts of these items in a very short amount of time. Crafters of all kinds are always on the lookout to purchase these gathered ingredients for their own production skills and will pay handsomely for their production needs. You can collect even the lowest level ingredients in the starter zone at little to no risk to your character’s life and other players will stay pay huge amounts for these items in the auction house. When selling your gathered items make sure to look at the prices of what the ingredients are going for in the auction house. You don’t want to set your prices to high, but at the same time you still want to make some good money for your efforts. The best idea is to look at what others are selling for, find the happy medium in the prices being offered, and set a buyout price just below what others are offering. Always set a buyout price! When crafters are looking for ingredients in the auction house they do not want to have to wait 24 hours for the bidding to end, they want to pay a flat rate and get their ingredients immediately. This method alone can net you a great deal of money in a very short amount of time.
Collect Daily Quest Items and Sell Them at the Auction House
Daily quests are a great way for players to gain experience, especially when leveling up secondary classes. Only problem is that daily quests can take some time to complete and you can only complete ten in a day. Many players, especially those with a great deal of money, don’t want to spend them time grinding away on monsters to complete the daily quests. They would much rather just buy the quest items they need off of the auction house. If you know what items are needed for the daily quests, gathering the daily quest items and selling them in bunches on the auction house can net you some easy cash. Every main town hub has a quest board with all of the daily quests listed on it. All you need to do is select the ones with the largest rewards and kill the enemies necessary to collect the quest items needed to complete the daily quests. Then, once you have enough items, put them up for auction at the auction house. Always make sure you check the going price for the items before you start selling them. Check what the average rates are for the items and set your buyout price just below the average, so that you can ensure your items are purchased first. Always set a buyout price! Players are impatient and do not want to wait around for the bidding process to complete. They would much rather just pay the extra gold to get the items immediately and turn in the quests.
Sell All Magical Weapons and Armor Through the Auction House
Runes of Magic, as of this writing, does not have a ton of magical gear as quest rewards. Players are mostly reliant on drops, buying form the auction house, and crafting for magical equipment. Any magical gear you come across make sure to put up for auction at the auction house, you will gain a great deal more of gold through this method than you would just selling the gear to a random vendor. Players are always on the lookout to upgrade their character’s stats and equipment and the auction house is the best way to do so. Set your prices so most adventurers will be able to afford your goods, but don’t set the price so low that you don’t make any money. A good rule of thumb is to put the magical gear in the auction slot and see what price the system sets the bid price at. From there add a couple hundred gold to come up with your buyout price and you should be good to go. Other players will buy up your un-useable loot, and you will make a tidy profit. Selling recipes and other rare drops such as runes and potions will also make you some extra spending cash, but never sell something that you can use to make your own character better.
Play the Auction House
Once you have found the average prices for the various goods and items you sell most often, you should visit the auction house from time to time and see if there are any especially low priced items for sale. Sometimes new players or even veteran players do not know how much to sell items for or just want to get rid of something quickly, so they set the buyout price very low on their auctions. This is the perfect opportunity for the savvy investor to buy up these low priced goods and resell them for a tidy profit. This method of playing the auction house is another quick way to rolling in the dough because of the fact that you don’t have to do any of the actual collecting. You just buy and resell, making money as you do so. This method works for all goods such as crafting items, weapons, and armor, and even diamonds, and potions.
So there you have it, the easiest ways to make a great deal of money in Runes of Magic without having to use any of your real life cash to buy it. Every player will find these methods have different time investments associated to them depending on the economy of your server, the amount of high level players, and other various factors.
